Tents on a ridge, with the Ghats for a horizon
Starting at
₹1,600 ₹2,600 per night
CAMP ALPHA is a ridge-top campsite outside Chikmagalur with proper raised-floor tents, shared bathrooms, meals cooked on site and a bonfire every night. Trek routes leave from the campsite and the Western Ghats make up the horizon in both directions — it is camping rather than a resort, and priced accordingly.
CAMP ALPHA is a campsite, not a resort with tents parked on the lawn. It sits on a ridge outside Chikmagalur with the ground falling away on both sides, and the whole layout is arranged around that fact.
Tents are proper ones — raised floors, real bedding, and enough headroom to stand up in. Bathrooms are shared and clean. Meals are cooked on site and eaten together, usually within sight of the fire.
The reason to come is what happens at either end of the day. Sunrise arrives over the ridge line and burns the mist off the valley in about twenty minutes. Sunset goes the other way and takes longer about it.
Treks leave from the campsite. So do a fair number of guests who came for one night and extended, which the team have stopped being surprised by.

The ridge takes the monsoon head-on and the approach road gets difficult. Check with us before booking between June and September.
